Samuil Yakovlevich Marshak wrote all these verses and many, many others for children.
When you grow up a little, you will be taken to puppet show. Or maybe you have already been there and seen the fairy tale "Cat's House"? And it was composed by Marshak. He began writing his plays-fairy tales in Krasnodar. The city has just been liberated from the "whites" and a theater for children has been opened there - one of the first in our country. It was for this theater that Marshak wrote his plays.
The hero of one of Marshak's first plays - "Petrushka the Foreigner" - is named after the beloved hero of the puppet buffoon folk theater. True, Petrushka lives in our time and has been turned by the writer into a negligent student: his stomach always hurts, it hurts him to toss and turn - he doesn’t want to go to class.
The hero of labor of Marshak's fairy tale play - "About the Goat" lived at a time when under New Year mummers still went from house to house. One of them dressed up as a goat and, like the hero of the play, was a jack of all trades, he knew how to sing, dance, cook cabbage soup, and walk on water.

The author, according to him, wanted "the fairy tale to tell that only simple-hearted and honest people discover nature." This play is based on Slavic legends about brothers-months.
