How to make an autumn landscape from leaves. Beautiful do-it-yourself paintings from dry leaves and flowers

If you like needlework and at the same time use natural materials, then the picture from autumn leaves is something you can do very quickly and easily. And you do not have to buy expensive material or make any effort to make a real masterpiece that can decorate your home.

Why should you be doing this kind of work?

First of all, it should be noted the advantages that a picture of autumn leaves has. This is:

  • — environmental cleanliness;
  • - naturalness;
  • - economy;
  • - decorative;
  • - exclusivity;
  • - ease of manufacture.

With a little effort and imagination, you can create paintings to your liking, and each of them will be different from the other. The process of such creativity is also very exciting for children, especially if you first go for a walk with them and collect beautiful leaves, herbs and flowers.

After drying the material with an iron (express drying) or between the pages of an unnecessary thick book and preparing glue, brush and cardboard, you can begin the creative process, which will surely give you and your children joy and pleasure, as well as contribute to the aesthetic development of your child.

Applications from autumn leaves are very effective method decorating your home in a short time. In this case, you do not have to pay big money for the materials from which your masterpieces will be made.

How to collect and prepare the necessary material?

Applications from autumn leaves should be done only after assembled necessary material. It is better to collect material in the fall, when the leaves become delicious. bright colors and you can make pictures all year round. Well, flowers and herbs can be dried for the entire period of their growth and flowering.

It is better not to collect dry elements, because they can crumble. While picking, pay attention to the size, shape and beauty of the leaves.

In addition to leaves, flowers and herbs, you can also use fluff, cone scales, seeds, as well as ordinary decorative materials(feathers, ribbons, etc.), creating a variety of combinations.

Dried material must be handled with great care, as it becomes very brittle even after being gently dried in a book. Make sure that the plants are completely dry, otherwise the finished work may deteriorate.

Make sure that during the period of storage of the material it does not begin to rot due to poor drying or due to moisture ingress.

How to quickly dry leaves for crafts

Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth or cotton pad to remove dirt and dust. It is not necessary to wet and rub too much, so as not to damage the fragile surface.

Line an ironing board with clean paper and spread the leaves on it.

If you use newspapers, be careful as the printing ink can be printed both on the leaves and on the surface of the ironing board.

Top with another sheet of paper.

Switch the iron to the minimum temperature and check that there is no water in it. If your iron does not have too high power, then you can set the temperature closer to the average, but not the maximum, because too hot an iron will ruin the leaves.

Iron the leaves a few times, then remove the paper and flip them over to the other side. Cover again with paper and iron.

Repeat the procedure until the leaves are completely dry.

Materials you will need:

  • - dried natural material:
  • - PVA glue, as well as a regular brush with which it will be applied to the base;
  • - sharp scissors for cutting the necessary elements;
  • - thick cardboard or plain landscape paper (but cardboard is undoubtedly better), to use as a base;
  • - plasticine, with which you can fix volumetric elements;
  • - you should also prepare some kind of load so that you can press down the future picture.

Features of making paintings paintings from flowers and leaves

To get started, come up with a plot for the future picture and select the type of application you are going to make. Here you can rely on your imagination, take some image as a basis (picture, photo, etc.) or create images based on the capabilities of the material - when exactly it suggests ideas.

If you come up with a plot, make a sketch with a simple pencil on the basis, marking out where which parts will be located. Then think over the sequence of gluing leaves and herbs (especially for a multi-layer complex application). Well, then you can start gluing.

If you didn’t have enough leaves, or didn’t find something specific, then the missing details can simply be added or made from other materials (for example, a flower vase or a head for a little man).

If you are going to do a leaf painting for the first time, then try to draw something simple first to understand how the material behaves, how it should be handled and what nuances may arise.

Having mastered the process, you can move on to more complex images and increase the amount and variety of natural material.

The picture is constructed quite simply: first, larger parts are usually glued to the base, and then smaller ones. If the leaves have extra details, then they can be carefully trimmed.

Naturally, you should select the elements by color so that the picture is as natural and harmonious as possible.
And of course, you need to work carefully and with soul so that your little masterpiece will adequately decorate your home interior.

Painting-imprint

From the leaves, you can not only make applications, but also paintings - prints. To do this, apply paint with a brush on a beautifully shaped sheet and make an imprint.

The second option is done using watercolor paper. In this case, the fallen leaves are placed between watercolor paper and a napkin and carefully tapped over the entire surface with a hammer so that the coloring pigment remains on the paper.

Landscape "House in the village"

Let's figure out how to properly assemble a landscape of leaves and herbs.

Any floral landscape is glued from top to bottom.

Glue the sky and the river (to simulate the sky, put the sheet at an angle, for the river - horizontally. Thus, thanks to one material, you will achieve a double effect - the movement of air and the smooth flow of the river).

Proceed to distant shores. Choose soft pastel colors. Suitable raspberry leaves (with reverse side), peony and rose petals.

Glue the hills of the near shore from a green leaf.

Making a house: first glue the walls, then the roof and windows.

Plant trees around. Create a crown from all kinds of herbs (lungwort, knotweed, fern), cut trunks from birch bark, banana skins.

The last “strokes” are small bushes, a fence, sheaves.

Decorate the picture in any framing workshop (passport, glass, frame).

Do not hang the painting in direct sunlight so that it does not deteriorate.

colorful collages

Autumn leaves are so beautiful on their own that they look great in frames and without any plot. Look how beautiful! The first layer is dark leaves, then put the contrasting and most beautiful ones, so the volume will be felt. Everything is framed.

Another idea: we put a sheet of thick cardboard on a collage of leaves, in which a letter or a simple figure is cut out with a clerical knife.

Photo frame

For the autumn exhibition, you can make frames for photographs and for the design of essays and poems on the theme of autumn. Here are some options for such work - very simple and effective.

21. A little glue, plasticine, fantasy and magic - and ordinary acorns turn into a miniature set for tea drinking or fairy-tale characters!

There was an autumn girl, teasing with an outfit,
Warming in velvet light.
And with that girl, meeting her gaze,
We suddenly forget about the summer ...

Svetlana Efimova 2

D Good day my dear friends!

Today, I am sharing with you my new experience in needlework. It will be a picture of autumn leaves, I wanted to call it: a girl - autumn. Actually, I didn't plan to do this job. But, at work, held annual competition crafts, from autumn materials. The leader asked me to make some crafts from natural materials. As a boss, would you refuse a request? Yes, and I wasn’t going to refuse this request to him, this is needlework! And I like needlework, well, I really like it. Here's what I ended up with.

Picture of autumn leaves: girl - autumn.

For work, I took:

  • Fiberboard - 50 x 40 cm;
  • Natural materials - ears of wheat, a bunch of autumn leaves, twigs, acorns, rowan berries, flowers, grass, millet;
  • PVA glue;
  • Acrylic matte varnish;
  • Acrylic paints - gold, bronze and white;
  • Watercolor paint - yellow.

As a basis for the picture, I took a piece of fiberboard, 40 x 50 cm in size. not smooth))) Right in the middle, there was a scratch, but it doesn’t matter, I will decorate it.

The frame of the picture, I decided to draw in the technique - terra. For this, I needed a mixture into which I would press ears of wheat and millet. Usually putty is taken for this, and I was sure that I had it. But everything was a break, I didn’t find it, it turned out to be over, but I didn’t want to go to the store ... But I had dry glue for tiles and I decided to experiment. Let the glue be the basis of the mixture. I needed to get a mass of medium density into which wheat and millet could be pressed. In this case, the mixture should eventually harden and firmly stick to the frame. And I did this, mixed: tile glue (6 parts) + flour (3 parts) + PVA glue. I actually used PVA instead of water. That is, as soon as the mass became the consistency I needed, I stopped adding it.

frame mix

First, I generously smeared the canvas with PVA glue, around the entire perimeter, in place of the future frame. After letting the PVA dry a little, I began to apply the experimental mass, with a layer of about 1 cm, beforehand.

Made the base for the frame

And immediately she began to press ears of wheat into this mass, and then plentifully, sprinkled with millet. Everything was pressed in, so that wheat and millet were pressed in, but at the same time they were clearly visible.

Pressed wheat and millet

Pressed wheat and millet

Then, she put the picture on its edge and shook off the excess millet.

Approximately, after 30 minutes, I mixed PVA glue and acrylic varnish, in equal proportions and with this composition, covered wheat and millet. When you apply this composition, it is white in color, but after drying it becomes transparent.

Covered with a composition of PVA glue and acrylic varnish

When the composition of glue with varnish dried, I painted the frame abundantly with gold paint. Painted with a wide brush. And after drying, I walked over the ears of wheat, with bronze paint.

Now, finally, the picture itself of autumn leaves. I want to say right away: I am not friends with drawing, and especially with drawing with paints! I painted as I thought.))) White acrylic paint, poured into a separate container and slightly diluted with water, so the paint is applied more evenly. Then, I painted over the surface of the fiberboard with paint (without affecting the frame). Thus, I prepared the canvas, lightly primed it. By the way, in the end, it looked like the picture was made on canvas. When White paint dried, I began to apply the background of the picture. I made all the strokes smooth, semicircular or something (I don’t know what the artists call it). In the middle, closer to the top, again painted with white paint. Then I began to darken the background, bringing it closer to the edges. To do this, in a container with white acrylic paint, gradually, began to add gold. The farther to the edges, the more gold was added, making the tone darker.

Painted fiberboard, making the background

Looking at the result, I wanted to add a yellow tone. I didn’t have acrylic yellow paint, so I took it watercolor paints. Mixing white and yellow watercolor paints, walked immediately, over the edge white background. That's it, I put the picture aside until the paints completely dry.

For this work, I collected some different, autumn leaves, thin birch twigs, grass. Also, twigs with rowan berries, acorns, flowers from narwhal flower beds (fortunately, they were not fined))). But my husband found the highlight. Helping to collect acorns, I found a sleeping dragonfly (it's good that it was already not alive).

Leaves, and flower petals, I laid between the pages of books, so they lay with me for about two days. I had them at work, only slightly dried up.

But first, I drew a silhouette of a girl on paper (I found it on the Internet) and attached it to the picture to determine the size.

I drew a silhouette of a girl

Then she cut off the skirt and painted the girl with gold paint. It could have been acrylic, but I had an aerosol gold paint))). From the waist, cut off a small pointed piece, these will be cilia.

Painted the “girl” with gold paint

Then, I glued the girl to the place, which I decided in advance. I didn’t take pictures of my further steps, because. I'll tell you in words.

She formed a wreath for the girl from grass, leaves and twigs with rowan berries. I glued everything on a mixture of PVA glue and acrylic varnish (in proportions 1/1). In the future, I used this composition. Let me explain why I used just such a composition. Before starting to make a picture, I rummaged through the Internet, in search of how to preserve the color of autumn leaves. And I found information that the color and elasticity of autumn leaves can be preserved, including with the help of this composition. Other options did not suit me (I will not write about them).

I continue. The skirt was made from leaves. Glued in rows, starting from the hem, rising higher.

The bodice of the dress was made from flower petals.

Since, initially, there was a scratch on the fiberboard, I glued a branch with leaves in its place. And she glued the dragonfly, spreading her wings. I really liked this dragonfly.

Made a girl, glued a dragonfly and a twig

On both sides of the girl, I glued twigs and leaves, trying to imitate trees. I started gluing from the top level, then, going down, I glued the following branches and leaves.

And in the lower left corner I glued panicles, small twigs of flowers and a few acorns.

And further! Examining the work, I found that on the frame, there are places that were not painted over. Therefore, once again, I went over the frame with gold paint.

Glued grass and acorns

Then, through all the leaves, twigs and flowers, I walked again, with a composition of glue and varnish.

That's all. My painting of autumn leaves is ready. Of course, this is most likely not a picture, but a panel ... But let it be a picture, I really want it)))

Friends, if my master class was useful to you, share it with your friends!

Oshibana or oshibana is a kind of floristry, the art of creating pictures from natural materials dried under pressure: flower petals, green and yellow leaves, stems and seeds of herbs.

The material for creating a picture must be prepared, i.e. collected and dried. Flowers, leaves, grass, seeds, fluff are collected and dried under pressure or in a herbarium folder so that they become flat. Leaves and flowers often change their color. To obtain the desired shade, heat treatment or other methods of preserving natural beauty are sometimes used. It is important to know which plant, at what time of the year it is better to collect. In addition, you need to collect plants in clear weather so that the plants are not wet.

How to dry plants?

1. In paper press

You can dry the flowers and leaves in a thick book, between the leaves of tracing paper. If you need a voluminous flower - in a box with sand (chamomiles can be dried this way by gently sprinkling the flower with sand), the dandelion is dried at the opening stage, head down, as soon as the white fluffy head opens, sprinkle with hairspray.

If you do not strive to preserve the natural color of the plants, you can dry them with an iron, placing them between two sheets of paper. Only the iron should not be too hot, otherwise the leaves will become very brittle. It is better to iron them with a barely warm iron 3-4 times with an interval of several hours, so as not to overdry.

3. In the microwave

The herbarium can be dried in the microwave, but the leaves do not always remain even and smooth, so it will be difficult to stick them.

4. In glycerin

Plants dried in glycerin will retain their shape well, but will acquire a greenish-brown hue, however, for decorative panel they can be painted.

Dilute glycerin (available in pharmacies) in hot water in a ratio of 1:3. Pour the resulting solution into a container at least 6-10 cm deep, lower the plants vertically, leave for a few days until they darken, then dry.

Little tricks when drying a herbarium:

1. With proper drying, the top of the whole plant with stem and leaves should not lean down.

2. To make the leaves denser, dip them into a solution of 20% PVA glue and water.

3. Flower buds can be dried in sand poured into cardboard box. Of the flowers, dried red dahlias or delphinium retain their color better than others.

4. To keep bluish or bluish leaves retain their hue when dried, dip them for 1 minute in denatured alcohol.

Store plant material in airtight containers, protected from direct sunlight, moisture and moths. Ready-made Oshiban paintings can also fade and change their color over time, so it is advisable to frame them under glass and not keep them in the sun.

Artists attach (glue) dried plant material to the base (cardboard, fabric, wood), while the author creates a painting with the help of plants. That is, mistaken - this is painting with flowers, plants.

The art of oshigan originated in Japan about six hundred years ago. In Europe, this type of arts and crafts was widespread in Victorian era. In recent decades, the mistake has experienced a rebirth.

Floral artists perform in technique mistaken not only ornaments, landscapes, still lifes, but also portraits and narrative paintings.

Despite the seeming simplicity, the technique of mistaken allows you to create simply amazing pictures. We invite you to enjoy them with us.

Here we are not talking about children's applications. We will do ADULT masterpieces - for interior decor. Although children's work will also be here, you will see.

So, how to make paintings from dry or succulent leaves, from flowers and herbs with your own hands.

There you are DIFFERENT WAYS... and DIFFERENT leaf craft techniques in the form of paintings.

And each craft-picture is within the power even for beginners master craftsman.

Ah yes, let's dive into the creative impulse.

Volumetric picture of DRY LEAVES AND ACORNS

(the essence of the work is with your own hands)

Let's start with a bright artistic "canvas" - an autumn composition of leaves and acorns ...

The essence of the work- We take a sheet of plywood - and the leaves are glued overlapping each other ... We leave the edges of the plywood sheet clean - we will fill our frame there.

The picture from dry leaves turns out to be voluminous, so we will not place it under glass. And the frame comes separately without glass (just a frame made of wooden slats ... and just a piece of plywood (or fiberboard) in size for this frame.) And then we choose a method to your taste - with acrylic varnish, or with paraffin from candles. Even small children can participate in such a picture. This idea can be realized in circles of creativity.

Method with acrylic varnish. We buy acrylic varnish for crafts in the store. Pasted the leaves onto the canvases… applied a layer of varnish, let it dry… applied a layer again… dried it again… and another layer… etc. until it shines the way you want.

Paraffin method. Melt the candles in a pot. Each sheet was dipped and laid on canvas. They themselves will stick to each other with paraffin. A very quick and easy way to make a brilliant autumn leaf painting. Leaves sealed in paraffin may not lose their juiciness of form and color for years.

You can lay out such pictures by stacking the leaves in a chaotic manner. Or you can come up with a specific pattern. Harmony of smooth color transition.

And also you can try and make circular symmetrical patterns from leaves of different sizes and colors. They are called mandalas. Some other ancient peoples came up with such centric patterns, and it is believed that they have the magic of harmony and beauty. Mandalas are nice to look at. In our case, the magic of our mandalas will be made of light and pure material: natural foliage - therefore, such centric pictures will only heal and soothe, like nature itself.

Here, of course, painstaking work has been carried out - it is necessary so that the size of the leaves were the same in each of the circles. And to every circle differed from each other in size and shape of its repeating element.

Such paintings from leaves and dry herbs can be done exactly TO THE COLOR OF YOUR INTERIOR. To perfectly fit the picture in the room.

In bright orange tones - to the orange-yellow interior.

Or to an interior in dark chocolate-muted tones… another composition of autumn leaves will do.

Now, here's another great idea...

Pictures from STEAMING leaves.

Look at the photo below. Like? Me too)). Do you want to do it yourself - right? Then read on.

If the leaves are dried - without pinching them between the pages of the book - but simply put in a flat box (for example, from under sweets) and sprinkle with semolina ... then this is what happens ...

The groats will press the leaf just enough to keep him from squirming when dried - and then the sheet will dry, retaining its smooth, elegant shape.

Such leaves can be fixed behind glass in a frame ... and they will be beautiful and even inside the picture.

You say…“Yeah… but here in the photo you can see that the leaves are not clamped by the frame… but, as it were, hover inside the frame. How to do it?

Very simple. We need a frame with emptiness inside(search for sale or make your own ...

In order to make such a deep air frame-box, we need to ... take an ordinary frame with glass (slats and glazing) ... a thin sheet of plywood (or fiberboard) ... and four pieces of a bar (a plump lath ... the thicker the lath-beam, the more space will be inside frame)...

And now, having collected everything we need, we create the design of such a frame-box ...

We fill the bars on a sheet of plywood - i.e. we create the sides ... and on these sides - we attach our upper lined frame from above. And in total we get a frame with air inside - a frame-box.

How to make a sheet "hover" inside a frame-box ...

First, create a background– our plywood frame bottom … or PAINT in White color... or we paste over with white paper.

We apply leaves in the center ... and estimate with a glance where this leaf has the most central place. Mark this place with a pencil at the bottom of the frame.

Here we will glue our leaflet to this hemp (foam or wood). And it turns out that he as if hovering in the air and does not touch the wall of its frame.

And you can do it even better...

You can create the illusion of a leaf with a frame, lying on the sand…Here’s how to do it…

Until stick our sheet to the "stump" we can do SANDY BACKGROUND at the bottom of the frame. To do this, take a glue gun ... and apply uneven layer of glue on the bottom of the frame ... somewhere thicker, somewhere less ... And while the glue is not dry pour fine river sand on it. We let it dry and after drying we shake out excess sand from the frame. We look, and if there are unsanded places ... lubricate these bald spots again with glue and sand again.

If you don't have a glue gun (by the way, you can buy it at any hardware store for $ 7) ... then you can use ordinary pva glue - also apply a thicker layer and sand it with sand ... but it will take longer to dry ... and it’s better to take fine sand, pva glue will not hold coarse gravel.

As a result, you will get beautiful pictures - as if the leaves are lying on the sand ...

And also in such a frame and you can place not just CLEAN autumn leaves - but painted ones with a picture painted on them.

LEAVES-PICTURES

sheet painting technique.

You can lay out pictures with leaves, or you can draw pictures on the leaves themselves. Paint - oil or gouache.

If you work with gouache, then after completing the drawing, you need to sprinkle such a picture with hairspray (to fix the paint and give it a more juicy brightness, as in the photo below).

Such original paintings on the leaves can be given to relatives and friends, you can even date them for the New Year.

And so that the picture - a gift from the autumn leaf is preserved for a long time
- did not dry out, did not shrink, did not curl up, it is necessary to sealed in paraffin(or wax). To do this, melt the candles in a bowl and dip the leaves in paraffin by the tail. We take out and dry, hanging by the tail on the threads.

And if you are not an artist, then you can draw simple graphic patterns - the usual symmetry of geometric repeating shapes.

A simple master class

according to the patterns on the leaves.

And you know what, I'm probably going to fall in love with you now with the idea of paintings on autumn leaves. I will give you instructions, with which he will come understanding, and interest, desire and love will come for the company.

Let's start with the simplest crafts-paintings on the leaves. For example, such silhouette drawings... They have only a BACKGROUND and only a DARK SILHOUETTE. The background is simple. And the silhouette is simple. So let's start with these simple ones. artistic tasks not to scare you away, but to lure you.

We find a beautiful picture on the Internet. For example, this one. We print it out at a photo printing kiosk (I don’t think you have a color printer at home).

On a blank sheet of paper draw a maple leaf with a pencil, cut out the circled silhouette - we get a stencil with a hole in the shape of a maple leaf. And with this maple hole we apply a paper stencil to our picture in the place you like. For example like this.

And now you can redraw the picture from this paper sample to the maple leaf. First, the background is sky and water, then the black silhouette of a dolphin. You can also make a holey paper stencil for a dolphin - put it on the background and paint it with black paint.

According to this principle, it is possible to any episodes from any pictures. Even with Mono Lisa. Elements with eyes look spectacular - the predatory look of a bird, or the mysterious look of a woman.

BIT PATTERNS look very nice drawn with a cotton swab. Here, too, first we make the background. Let's dry it. And then we draw a drawing with dots. The easiest one to get started. For example, the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.

Paintings on leaves with a SMOOTH COLOR TRANSITION look very interesting.. Gradient overflow of paint shades (as in the picture below). Here's how to make one at home gentle background in your picture...

To make a background on a leaf with a SMOOTH FLOW effect one shade in another, you need to use not a brush, but a foam rubber sponge with small pores.

  • On the sponge we apply wide stripes of paint - yellow, yellow-orange mixed, orange.
  • We print a sponge on a sheet.
  • The first print will be light, so we reapply streaks of ink and repeat this process several times until the background is just right.

Then with a thin brush we apply black contours of the silhouette (for example, birds), and paint over the contours. From paper, you can cut out the silhouette of a bird and circle it. Or cut a stencil-hole of a bird - put it on a sheet and paint it over.

You can draw anything on maple leaves, the simplest and the most complex. Citrus slices or an illustration from the fairy tale The Little Prince.

Paintings PRINTS

from colored leaves.

Children, often in the classroom at school or in kindergarten make prints of autumn leaves. Chalk or paints.

In the technique with a chalk print, we put white paper on top of an autumn leaf - and shade it all with chalk - from hatching, all the roughness of the sheet shows through on the paper.

And in the technique with paint - on the autumn leaf with a sponge (better than just a brush), we apply paint and, until it dries, quickly print the sheet with the painted side to the paper.

And it turns out very interesting when we do not make an orange sheet, on white paper, but the other way around, first we paint over the paper in orange with gouache, and then cover the sheet with white paint and create a white imprint of the sheet on an orange background. It turns out much more interesting and richer in color. Agree?

Such leaf prints can be collaged into an interesting picture.

This is how it is in the photo below - the picture was initially divided into zones ... for each zone a different splash background was chosen (how to make a background from splashes in the same article I will tell below) ...

And then a stamp sheet is applied to each zone. It turns out the author's work of art

And you can make it even more beautiful ... if you apply the print of an autumn leaf not on a clean White list, but on prepared. In advance, we put on a sheet of typos of soap colored bubbles... and then when the prints are dry ... apply leaf prints to this bubble background. It is quite simple - we pour the usual soap solution into jars, add colored gouache - and inflate the bubble with a cocktail tube and, when it is already large, tilt it to the paper so that it bursts against it.

And there will be a feeling AS if these leaves float in puddles when it rains... have you ever seen how the rain raises bubbles in puddles and leaves float in this bubble puddle ... a picture of leaves and raindrops ... will be a real decoration of your room ...

Leaf paintings

back prints.

"Backprints" is the name I came up with for a technique that produces here is the result- stencil technology. (photo below).

The stencil technique is simple - very simple. Look here...

  1. We take a white sheet of paper ... put a leaf, a stalk of grass, or a twig on it.
  2. We put this sheet inside a large box (the more the better), now you will understand why ...
  3. We take a can of colored paint in our hand - and splash it over the paper with a leaf / stalk / flower lying on it. (Since all our work is done inside the box, the splashes do not scatter around the room and do not stain the furniture).

As a result, the entire leaf is painted in a juicy color ... and the place where there was a branch remains shaded.

And as the spray from the can fly out at different angles- we do not have clear contours of the plant ... but, as it were, a blurry leaf shadow ... which only adds to our picture from the leaves of artistic expressiveness.

Or you can use a simpler sprayer, from a toothbrush.

Use ordinary watercolor or gouache, and a regular toothbrush will serve as a sprinkler.

Pictures stamps - from succulent leaves.

Can you leave it on paper? leaf imprint- at all in a clumsy way. Rather, "hammer"

We take paper - put a sheet (juicy green, yellow, red) - cover with a paper napkin - and on top of the napkin we knock-pound with a hammer on the leaf. As a result, juice and pigment from the sheet are reprinted onto paper.

It is possible to print each sheet separately... laying a leaf after a leaf... step by step inventing the plot of the composition.

And you can - immediately decompose all sheet and flower arrangement- in our future picture - cover with a napkin and thresh selflessly - until the plants are completely torn to pieces.

So that their bright souls remain imprinted forever - on your imperishable canvas.

FLAT painting

from dried herbs, leaves and flowers.

And of course - the standard version of the picture from natural materials. When herbs, leaves and flowers wither in flat view between the pages of books. And in such a pressed form they are laid out on the pictures.

You will find even more such FLAT flower paintings in my article. .

THE BEST WAY TO DRY leaves and herbs

(so as not to spoil the books).

Wrap the sheet on both sides with a paper towel, then thick paper, then with a cotton diaper and ironed.

The iron must not be very hot (otherwise the sheet will turn black). A little bit ironed, a little bit he warmed up like in the summer sun. Left some moisture in the napkin. Then they changed the napkin to a dry one - repeated.

And after that, you can also put it in a paper napkin between heavy books.

Leaf paintings

in mosaic technique.

Mosaic technique is the most beautiful, in my opinion. Very gentle, airy, real lace made from natural materials. And it's so nice to lay out piece by piece - gently, precisely, achieving the right similarity.

First, put everything on dry paper - then take a picture of the final version. Remove everything from the sheet - carefully transferring each element to the box. And then, with glue in hand, lay out the mosaic-picture, referring to the photo-sample.

As a basis, you need to take a sheet of paper with the silhouette of the animal transferred to it. Put a sheet of paper on the computer screen with a picture and a weak line of a pencil to translate the contours of the animal. And then slowly fill all this space with pieces of leaves.

Deer, owl - quite complex work. Your very first job should be simple so as not to discourage. The simplest is a symmetrical animal. Same left and right. So you will simply start from the center - and at the same time lay out the same pieces of plants to the right and left of it.

As a material, you can use dry leaves, or leaves sealed in paraffin (dipped in melted candle wax).

Leaf paintings

in multi-layer technique.

Or you can make an application from the leaves - in volumetric technique- when the texture of the sheet conveys the texture of the animal… like here in the picture of leaves with owls – when the texture and shape of the leaves conveys the texture and shape of the feathers.

And also you can sell your work - so I found a very interesting site where the author sells - not the crafts themselves - but postcards depicting these works. And not cheap - but at a good price. A great example of a beautiful hobby and business in one. https://www.floraforager.com/
