Theater "Practika": new projects and plans for further development

International Festival Actual Drama named after Dmitry Brusnikin
In the fall of 2019, the first Dmitry Brusnikin International Festival of Contemporary Drama will be held on the stage of the Praktika Theater in Moscow. The initiator of the festival is the Praktika Theater and the artistic director of Praktika Marina Brusnikina.
Dmitry Brusnikin, who left us this summer, always said that the theater cannot live without modern dramaturgy and did a lot for the development of a new drama - both in the Workshop and the Praktika theater, and beyond.

In 2019. on the birthday of Dmitry Brusnikin - November 17- We will open a festival dedicated to his memory. The festival will become an annual.

The new drama in Russia still needs popularization and support. Theater groups that focus on performances based on texts contemporary authors, are looking for topical dramaturgy and answers to questions that concern modern society, there are still few in the context of the entire Russian theater field.
One of the objectives of the festival is to show the diversity of genres and theaters of contemporary drama in Russia, to articulate the topics and issues raised, to create a field for discussion for the professional community, and to draw the audience's attention to this genre during the Year of Theatre. The Brusnikinsky Festival will bring together performances and theater projects related to today's documentary theater and new texts. Now, in contrast to the situation of the last decade, verbatim and document are used in the theater in completely different guises: witness theatre, the genre of reenactment, and documentary choreography have appeared. The Brusnikin Festival is an attempt to show a cut contemporary theater associated with the new dramaturgy.

Theaters from various regions of the Russian Federation, responsible for the development of modern dramaturgy, will come to Moscow. It will be both municipal and state theaters, and independent groups, studio theaters. It is planned that theaters from Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Finland will become special guests of the festival. The festival's poster will also include its own special projects by Praktika and Moscow theaters.
A special event will be the exhibition of Ksenia Peretrukhina, dedicated to the creative heritage of Dmitry Brusnikin, a joint project with the TERRITORIA Festival-School of Contemporary Art and the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art MMOMA.

Post-dramatist practice.
The Praktika Theater is the theater of modern dramaturgy, and it is our task and mission to develop this direction, to be a flagship and a witness to how the theater is changing, and with it the modern text and its author.
The Praktika Theater, together with the Lyubimovka Young Drama Festival and the Union of Theater Workers (STD RF), is holding in the 2018-2019 season. the first creative laboratory "Practice of the post-dramatist". The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation became the general partner of the project.

The theater invited young playwrights to participate in the laboratory, who are ready to be not only the authors of texts, but also the creators of their own, new theater.
In November 2018, the names of 10 playwrights were announced, selected on the basis of a competition that exceeded 10 people per place. Ahead are four partner sessions, each of which involves the joint work of ten resident playwrights selected on the basis of a call for proposals, with a theater expert, a composer of new academic music, a choreographer and a contemporary artist, followed by a presentation of projects to the professional community and the audience. Each session will be preceded by introductory lectures by professionals in the relevant field of art. In the finale, a group of post-dramatists becomes the collective author of their own performance, created in line with the new theater. The project may be included in the repertoire of the Praktika Theatre.
The curators of the program are the art directors of the Lyubimovka festival, playwrights Mikhail Durnenkov and Evgeny Kazachkov.

A new direction in the Praktika Theater - chamber operas and cross-platform performances.

AT Russian theaters today there is practically no genre of chamber opera. Many works of high artistic value have been written in this genre. The Praktika Theatre, always striving for the synergy of genres, is interested in this genre and plans to release its own performances in the chamber opera genre, as well as invite existing ones to its stage.
The Praktika Theater expands the possibilities of using its chamber stage and attracts a new audience. The Praktika Theater initiates the production of performances created in collaboration with contemporary music ensembles. The new musical theater laboratory will be held on the basis of the theatre.

AT modern society the model of the relationship between the theater and the audience is rapidly changing. Spectators no longer want to be bystanders, and artists are trying to go beyond their usual existence on the stage. This mutual desire to meet each other gives rise to new theatrical forms interaction and theater "Practice" can not stand aside.
The format of the chamber opera allows to reduce the distance between the artist and the audience, while immersing all participants in the process as much as possible in the context of the performance, and also requires a more detailed way of existence from the participants in the performance, thereby representing a platform for creative growth.
The curator of the program is Ekaterina Vasileva.

Undoubtedly big theater - this is one of the most recognizable sights of Moscow. Suffice it to recall that his image was awarded hit on banknotes Russian Federation. Founded in 1776, it quickly acquired the status of the Imperial Theatre, while becoming the center of the stage life of that time. The theater has not lost this status to this day. The phrase "Bolshoi Theater" has long become a brand known and understood by art lovers all over the world.

History of the Bolshoi Theater

The founding day of the Bolshoi Theater is March 13, 1776. On this day, Prince Peter Urusov received permission from Empress Catherine II to create a theater. This year, construction began on the right bank of the Neglinka, but the theater did not have time to open - all the buildings died during a fire. New theater was built on Arbat Square under the direction of Russian architect Italian descent Karl Ivanovich Rossi. This time the theater burned down during the invasion of Napoleon. In 1821, under the guidance of the architect Osip Bove, the buildings of the Bolshoi Theater appeared, to which we are so accustomed. The opening of the Bolshoi Theater took place on January 6, 1825. This date is considered the second birthday of the theatre. The repertoire of the Bolshoi Theater began with the concert "The Triumph of the Muses" by M. Dmitriev (music by A. Alyabyev and A. Verstovsky).

The Bolshoi Theater has a very difficult and further fate. Its building burned down, fell into disrepair, German bombs fell there ... The next reconstruction, begun in 2005, should give historic building the original view of the theater, to open to the audience and tourists all the splendor of the old building. There is very little time left: soon fans of high art will be able to enjoy the masterpieces of world music in a wonderful and unique atmosphere main stage Bolshoi Theatre. The Bolshoi Theater has long been specializing in the arts that have been pride for many years national culture- opera and ballet. The respective theater troupes, as well as the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra, consist of exceptionally talented artists. It is difficult to name a classical opera or ballet that has never been staged at the Bolshoi. Bolshoi Theater repertoire consists exclusively of works by great composers: Glinka, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Mozart, Puccini!

Buy tickets to the Bolshoi Theater

Buying tickets to theaters in Moscow is not easy in principle. The Bolshoi Theater is also, of course, the most prestigious, and it is very difficult to get tickets there, despite their high cost. Therefore, you should take care of purchasing tickets to the Bolshoi Theater in advance. AT box office tickets are sold out very quickly, and the choice of seats in the hall is limited. Use a more modern and convenient way -

In connection with the upcoming Year of Theater artistic director of the Danish-Russian theater "Dialogue" Tatiana Derbeneva-Jacobsen plans to implement the cultural project "Parade of Russian Theaters in Denmark".

AT Russian center science and culture in Copenhagen, the organizer plans to invite chamber Russian theaters with performances of a small form. Conditions - a chamber hall for 100 seats.

Reads "parade" - theater "Zero" from Israel, then collectives from Bulgaria and Hungary. And so, during the year, Dialog plans to invite a number of Russian theaters from different countries: two theaters agreed to come from Russia - Ulyanovsk Drama Theatre. I.Goncharova and the project of the actress Vera Voronkova from Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater. The theater "Ladder" (Israel) will also come, Russian theater from the city of Kemer(Turkey), theater from Turin (Italy). Preliminary negotiations have already been held with many of them.

The Dialog Theater is also planning a production by Dmitry Krestyankin, a guest director from St. Petersburg, who made a presentation at the Young Director's Fair at the 2nd Congress of the Association of Russian Theater Workers Abroad. It's about about the play about Sergei Rachmaninov, a famous Russian composer and émigré, warmly loving Russia and all his life suffering in exile. The issue of funding is being addressed.

In April, the premiere of a one-man performance staged by a colleague from the Association, director Ilya Borovitsky(Israel) "And happiness was so possible ..."The performance will tell about the love of the Russian writer Anton Chekhov and the memoirist Lidia Avilova, who published a book of memoirs" A.P. Chekhov in my life ", where she spoke about correspondence and personal meetings with the classic. The work is built under the motto:" no one knew, although it lasted for ten whole years". The book caused a lot of controversy: some considered Avilova's notes to be reliable, others zealously criticized them, calling the writer's view too subjective, and some episodes were extremely fictional. This book will form the basis of the future premiere.

There are two more in the folder of future premieres contemporary plays: L. Titova and A. Starotorzhsky " Royal cow" and " Shadow» Anna Gerasimova based on the fairy tale by G.Kh. Andersen.

A few more words about the children's studio at the theater "Dialogue", where gradually, year after year, children are fond of theater, show bright talents and turn into the future of the team. The studio is invited to prestigious festivals, where its members win awards, which greatly stimulate further creativity. In 2018, the studio members visited the festival in Vienna and Aarhus, where they won first place in the Theater nomination. And in 2019, our young actors are invited to theater festival children's theaters in Klaipeda (Lithuania).

In short, the plans are extremely ambitious. Why would you like to wish Tatyana Maksimovna Derbeneva-Jacobsen and her pupils success and the realization of all your plans!

I will quote the publication from the website of the Ministry of Culture:

In accordance with the Decree of President Vladimir Putin, 2019 has been declared the Year of Theater in the Russian Federation.
Its main tasks are related to the preservation and promotion of the best domestic theatrical traditions and achievements; availability of the best samples of theatrical art for residents different cities, improving the organization of theatrical business and drawing attention to issues theater education. The events of the Year will cover all regions of the Russian Federation.”

I really want the Year of Theater to be as interesting as possible in all schools, homes children's creativity and national libraries. I sketched out some ideas for themed events and educational projects. I sincerely hope that something from this list will be useful to you in your work.

Distribute these activities according to age groups. Some will be for students only. elementary school, in others - students of grades 5-9, save something for high school students. Winners of all ages participate in the final theatrical celebration.

1. Photo exhibition (competition) "Hero of not our time"

Let these be full-length or half-length portraits of children in theatrical images. Size - 20 × 30 cm. The winner is the one who manages to convey the image of the hero as artistically as possible in one frame.

After the children turn in the photo, hang nearby pictures that are similar in theme: fairytale heroes(only in the signature it should be described in detail - “The Princess from the fairy tale“ The Princess and the Pea ”), heroes of Russian literature (There are always many Onegins and Tatyan), heroes foreign literature(Romeo and Juliet are leading here), etc.

Portraits can also be placed in in electronic format on the school website or create a separate Vkontakte group for mass voting.

2. Themes for the drawing and craft competition

In order for there to be many participants, offer a choice different topics:
"Poster" (choose a play or fairy tale and draw a poster with the date of the premiere, the names of the actors, etc.)
"Costume for the performance" (task for future costume designers, A4 format)
"Scenery for the performance" (it is obligatory to indicate the name of the performance, A3 format)
"Theater Curtain" (this is a good task for students in grades 1-2)

3. Theater project (presentation, research)

It is best to invite children to find information about the theater that is in your locality. Even the smallest amateur theater! Children who live in big cities can choose the one they like to go to the most. Let it be “History of the theater (in my city)”, or the project “Artist who was born in my city” (“Countrymen”), in which children will talk about a famous theater director, actor, screenwriter or theater designer who was born in your city. It is necessary and worthy project activity in the year of the theatre.

4. Competition of costumes and theatrical make-up

Costumes and make-up are chosen by the participants themselves, but the defile must be rehearsed. Solo exit, exit for 2-3 people, the final parade of all characters. There should be no chaos and fuss. Clearly define the sequence of exits, select music and quotes from works whose heroes will appear on stage. Teach participants how to pose for the photographer by stopping for a couple of seconds in a well-lit spot on the stage.

5. Competition of readers "Monologue"

Every school has active participants in such competitions. Help choose a fragment of the work, create a suitable setting (floor lamp, shawl, desk, candle, etc.) or select frames from a play or illustration from a book for a background presentation.

6. Scene from a play (musical, operetta)

It is quite difficult to prepare even a small passage in which 2 to 10 people participate. It's good if the school has a theater club or creative studio. Entrust the preparation of such scenes to enthusiastic children, and everything will work out. If very few such passages are prepared, dilute the competition of readers with them.

7. "The theater begins with a hanger"

It could be interactive program with two or three trained presenters who not only talk about the theater, but also hold small thematic games, contests, quizzes with one class. The task is to prepare children for a conscious trip to the theater, starting with the wardrobe, the buffet and the entrance to the hall. Consider on the diagram what the stalls, box, mezzanine, amphitheater, balcony are. Introduce theatrical professions. play a joke theatrical production, in which people also play the role of scenery, “look” into the dressing room and backstage, rehearse a spectacular crowd scene, understand prompter prompts, take a bow, etc.

8. "Visiting a fairy tale" (puppet theater)

Here, too, you can start from afar, learn how to make dolls for puppet theater(you can also master papier-mâché if you wish, you can make fairy tale characters from other materials). If making puppets is difficult, buy ready-made sets (there are boxes with scenery and characters that can be used for 2-3 performances). Tell us about the puppeteers, find videos where you can watch the behind-the-scenes work of these professionals. Prepare small performances with music and pre-recorded replicas of the characters.

9. "Theatrical profession"

You can probably invite a charming storyteller from the theatrical environment who will introduce children to the theatrical professions. Even better, if you distribute these professions for children to learn, give each of them the opportunity to talk about their responsibilities in 2-3 minutes. Information can be found on the Internet, tell everything in the first person. Here are these professions: usher, actor, actress, puppeteer, prompter, make-up artist, costume designer, dresser, decorator, choreographer, props, sound engineer, light operator, troupe manager, theater director, stylist, stage worker, etc.

10. Golden Mask Award Ceremony

The final event, where the brightest artists will be able to demonstrate their talents, and the winners of all competitions will be spectacularly awarded diplomas and awards, must be prepared. Everyone knows how the awards ceremony goes. Photos of the “stars” on the red carpet and near the photo zone, announcement of the nominees from the envelope, tears of happiness, applause, words of gratitude, jokes, bright acting, dance and musical numbers, a cold fountain or a confetti machine in the finale.
