Ram named after the Gnessins selection committee. RAM

Good evening! This year, an applicant for pop-jazz singing. I decided to look for reviews (for some reason right now), it is strange that there are almost none. So, I can say the following: the university is considered the most prestigious higher musical institution, respectively, he has the largest requests. Believe me, the biggest.
She graduated from the Sochi College of Arts in 2013 and decided to enter there. Passed tests in Russian language and literature. I didn’t pass the USE due to the presence, as you understand, of secondary education. Many, by the way, despite this, passed the exam and, in my opinion, greatly regretted it. DO NOT TAKE THE USE if two compulsory subjects can be taken as entrance exams. The probability of getting a HIGH score is very high, moreover, on the USE in the same literature you will get 70 as a maximum, well, unless of course you are a masochist :) The Russian USE is easier, but you must admit, writing a dictation and getting 95 points is much easier than writing USE in Russian? All this applies to guys who have received an average professional education, others, if I'm not mistaken, will have to pass the exam in Russian and literature for admission to music universities and not only. In literature, the entrance exam is also simple, if you have read all the works of the Russian school literature, well, you know what each work is about, without much fanaticism, consider that you wrote an exam for a decent score! A very simple test, compared to the exam.
Concerning entrance examinations on music theory in writing and orally, then things are much (!) More complicated here. In theory, you need to swim. This is what they give to pop-jazz vocals, at least we had it today, and I think they do not change the requirements every year: 1. write a dictation (the teacher plays about 6 times at a moving pace, the dictation is complex, with constant chromatisms ); 2. The written work consists of 5 points - a) write the major pentatonic scale from the sound to C, write the melodically minor from the sound C. It's not hard; b) intervals are given, you need to determine them, indicate the keys and resolve as many times as possible, again, they ask without fanaticism; c) seventh chords are given, they need to be determined, the keys indicated, resolved in a similar way; d) a chain with notations is given, for example: subdominant sixth chord, dominant quintsextakhord, tonic triad, etc. You just need to write down these chords on musical staff in the given sequence; e) a melody is given, it needs to be transposed, for example, a chromatic semitone down. That's all. In principle, nothing complicated, but the difficulty lies in the fact that all the chords are not given in the key, so learn all the pentatonic intervals.
The day after tomorrow I will take the theory of music - orally (you come at two different days, then summarized as a single music theory exam). In theory, they ask verbally by ear, they demand to sing from a sheet, etc. The most difficult exam, according to Politkovskaya Ksenia Valerievna, promises to be a specialty and a colloquium. It is very difficult to get a high score in the specialty. As I understand it, it doesn't matter what kind of voice you have or you are very talented, etc. I don’t know by what criteria this exam is evaluated (of course, there can be no talk of dirty intonation, there is something else there, but I don’t know what yet) average, of course, these are high scores, but nevertheless), then in the specialty your average score is 60 O_0!
The colloquium is complicated by the fact that you yourself know how well or not well you know jazz, jazz history, creators, many names, their biographies, etc. Everyone asks, but jazz is a profile, so you need to know, and if we tell you more about Miles Davis, then the stereotype of cudgel-headed vocalists will evaporate and dissipate in the air completely :) KNOW the fable (well, or optional, if, of course, 60 points normal for you). Call jazz standards, great singers and jazz singers. She is very accommodating.
As for budget places, there are ONLY 4!!! This year there are 127 vocalists, 20 places in total, 16 paid, 4 free. And this is still a small number of applicants, as they say. In general, you understand, they will go to the budget, I don’t even know who will do it, to be honest, I really look forward to this moment in order to understand this topic, who will go to pop-jazz singing at the Academy. Gnesins to budget places ... I heard from the guys who are applying for the second time that "they" are pushing students from college to these 4 places. But this year there are no college students... And, of course, this is not fair.
LEARN THEORY and enrich your knowledge of jazz history and more.
