News of Belarus. For a whole week, the city of Baranovichi turned from a youth capital into a theatrical one. The VI Youth Festival "Parallel Worlds" brought together teams from Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany. Here people will not understand the language. And I always tell my students: if good performance, then everyone will understand, even if the language is not clear, and if the performance is bad, then knowledge of the language will not save.

57 applications for participation and only a third of them in the final program - none of the performances ended up here by chance. Festival in Baranovichi has collected all the cream theatrical art youth of 6 countries.

The main idea of ​​the festival, of course, is to unite theaters. Why did we call it "Parallel Worlds", because theaters often run in parallel and do not intersect. And each theater has its own Big world. Therefore, communication, interaction, new friends, new cultural connections.

On April 19, the VI International Festival-Seminar of Youth and Youth Theaters "Parallel Worlds" opens in Baranovichi. Spectators are waiting for six days of theatrical non-stop, performances of eighteen theaters from six countries - Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Lithuania and Estonia. "Cultural enlightenment" learned the details about the upcoming fest from the chief director of the theater "Parallel" Larisa Sartakova.

As Larisa said, the level of the festival has improved. 57 applications from seven countries were submitted, but many who wished to participate had to be refused for several reasons: some performances were already presented in the festival program of previous years, and someone did not have enough experience, and the level of the performance would not allow competing with other theaters. This year, both the number of countries participating (there were five at the last festival) and the age of the teams have grown.

A feature of the current "Parallel Worlds" Larisa Sartakova called the presence in the competition not only amateur groups, but also professional theater schools. This had a positive impact on the program of the upcoming festival, which will please with a variety of genres and forms: “The range of genres at the festival is wide: from musical comedy to tragic mass. The playbill combines musical and plastic performance and historical drama, parable and farce, comedy and tragedy. If earlier the drama prevailed, then this time there will be a lot of comedy performances. For the first time, a solo performance was included in the poster of our festival, and a total of five applications for solo performances were submitted - this is an interesting trend. Another trend this year is that many participating theaters work not with plays, but with prose and poetry.”

The program of "Parallel Worlds" will not be limited only to performances. Each festival day will end with round tables - discussions of productions with the participation of jury members and directors of all theaters.

The judges will include professional directors, theater teachers, actors Belarusian theaters, art critics. The director of Brestsky will become the chairman of the jury academic theater dramas, playwright Timofei Ilyevsky.

Included in the program of the festival and two master classes. The class on stage movement will be conducted by Associate Professor of the Cologne Theater Academy Gregor Weber, and the master class "Peculiarities of theatrical choreography" will be held by the choreographer of the Parallel Theater, holder of many diplomas international festivals Olga Skomorokh. “It is in the teaching of these disciplines in the amateur theater that the greatest gaps are observed,” comments Larisa Sartakova.
