We started the next lesson from the starting point - I decided that it would be useful for Natasha to first make sure of her ability to get under way, but in fact it turned out that during the night this ability was pretty shaken and had to be awakened by several takes. This must be understood. By teaching driving, you teach a person a fundamentally new thing. To get used to this, you need a couple of classes, sometimes more.

However, you teach your wife, don't you? Well, then a fair amount of excitement disappears. So legs. Timonkina had already learned to get under way, but even though the car did not stall, there was no talk of smoothness: each gear change is a jump forward. And it was then that the contemplation of the long limbs of the student acquired a legal justification - I saw with my own eyes the root of evil: the heels of the young driver did not touch the floor at any point in time. Of course, the feat of keeping the legs on the weight for such a long time perfectly replaced Natasha with abdominal exercises, but now there was a different kind of training.

“Put your feet on the floor, it will be softer to press the pedals,” I gave reasonable advice. “No, the shoes will wear out or the heels will get dirty,” I heard the answer of a creature from another world. All day we worked out parking in cramped conditions (I despaired of teaching a girl how to maneuver in reverse - complete confusion was expressed in a pile of crumpled boxes that depicted neighbors in the parking lot).

M. B.:“After classes in which a person learns to ride in reverse - snakes back, eights, it becomes easier for him to drive forward - immediately a sharp progress.”

Well, “for dessert” they returned to starting up the hill. Soon Natasha learned to recognize the smell of a burnt clutch among the aromas of autumn as well as an auto mechanic, but she never drove upstairs.

Yesterday I threatened Natasha to put her purse on the overpass behind the car, which worried the girl much more than the Porsche that was behind us on the first day. If you've forgotten what it's like to drive on a real street for the first time, I recommend trying to put a newbie behind the wheel. You begin to think for him, and all those emotions that you experienced when you yourself were in his place immediately pop up in your memory. The difference is that then the pedals bothered you, but now they are very lacking. The leg, against my will, presses into the floor, where there could be a brake, but I must not let you know that I feel uneasy - otherwise Natasha will completely panic.

M. B .: “My student only goes to the city with me for the first time. If he has a license, he rides alone most of the time. I'm driving the second car and we communicate by radio. At first, there are only right turns on the route, then left turns, then U-turns, intersections and roundabouts are added.

The pedals obviously confuse Natasha - on the site all her attention was focused on them, but now it is completely devoted to the rest of the participants in the movement and Natasha again behaves like a complete kettle.

M. B.: “To prevent this from happening, you need to work very well on the site. I have a wet driver's seat after every lesson - I have to plow like that.

It is known that girls, especially beautiful ones, really do not like to find themselves in stupid situations, but the first days of driving are a complete stupid situation, and this hurts their pride. Why not let a beginner get used to driving a car with two pedals first, and then offer to master a more advanced option - a handle? I think with horror that there are a lot of newcomers around on the road: green, scared, dangerous.

M.B.: “Therefore, we teach people to be able to drive not only not to make mistakes, but also to correct the mistakes of other drivers, which we have to do every day.”

In short, we said goodbye to the original plan to pass the exam (in our case, to drive from work to home ourselves). More precisely, they corrected it - on the mechanics, Natasha had to complete all the exercises on the site, but go to the city on the machine.
