I don’t know about the rest, but it was customary for us to give concerts at home, on weekends and public holidays for parents, grandparents and their friends. Adults gathered, and while they were busy with their feast, conversations and other chores, we children were feverishly doing final preparations to the concert.

Home children's concerts were of interest to all, both the audience and the participants themselves. It was possible for a week or a month to learn new songs, make figures for the shadow theater, learn poetry, prepare some absolutely fantastic costumes from my mother's and father's clothes. In general, everything was done to surprise parents and guests as much as possible. They prepared for them in advance, and if it was just a day off and there was only your family, you could sing, tell, play something, but if it was some kind of big holiday, such as February 23, New Year or March 8 , for these concerts it was possible to prepare for a month, for two. I always wanted to come up with something extraordinary, and since no one knew about the Internet then, I had to turn on my imagination. Thanks to the books we read, educational magazines and just a good upbringing (in those good times there was an abundance of all this), we had a stormy fantasy. By the way, in our home concerts very often everyone's favorite pets (hamsters, birds, cats and dogs) took part, the roles were assigned to them, but then how it turned out.

And then came one of those exciting days! Feelings were like before the exam, but what if it doesn’t work out, what if I forget the words, and suddenly the scenery will fly, made with colored paper with my own hands and hidden from my parents until the X day. Usually parents were invited to the room where the action took place, they sat on the sofa and the concert began.

Here I would like to note that in the days of the USSR, children were sufficiently educated, as was required of them both at school and at home. Plus, all kinds of circles were attended not at the whim of the parents, but primarily at the request of the children, since at that time most of the circles were either free or cost absolutely symbolic money. And, based on all this, our home concerts sometimes turned out very, very well. If one child sings beautifully, another accompanies him, the third shows some miracles, because he is passionate about chemistry and physics, the fourth dances well - there is something to see. And given that all this is done by your children, is this not a reason to be proud of them. Our parents were proud. And we did everything not to upset them and try to be even better. And in fact, these concerts were nothing more than a way to bring joy to the closest people in the world, parents.

Yes, it was quite likely not for everyone, but in my environment these concerts were considered something like a wonderful holiday, which you prepare for, which you expect. After all, before many people were friends with families, and when three, four, or even five or six families gathered in one house, there could be eight or ten children. If someone unexpectedly came, then we, the children, quickly organized a role in our concert for beginners, they could be as the same scenery or tell some verse while we were changing clothes (children also knew quite a lot of poems for memory ). There was a place and a right time for everyone. Most importantly, how much fun we had!!! These feelings will never be forgotten. Looking now at the children who are stuck in computers and mobile phones becomes really sorry for them. And even the point is not that they are different, but how many joys of our childhood these children are deprived of and will never recognize them.
