How to unlock Huawei modem using AT commands. Change your modem to be recognized as a smartphone

Hi all! Many mobile operators (MTS, Beeline, Iota) have favorable unlimited tariffs with low cost, for example, Smart Unlimited from MTS. They have one minus - you can use such a tariff only in your smartphone, it will not work in a USB modem / router.

Today's article on the site will be about how to moderate the greed of suppliers a little mobile internet, and make the unlimited tariff work on your USB GSM modem. You can either insert the modem into a laptop or into a Wi-Fi router to distribute the Internet to several computers.

How to connect to the closed tariff of the operator in order to significantly reduce the cost of unlimited Internet? [Advertising]

Friends, it is possible to connect closed mobile tariffs. These are the tariffs that mobile operators connect to large enterprises employing 1000+ people. In a regular salon, such tariffs cannot be issued. What is the salt, you ask? I answer - data unlimited tariff plans much cheaper than those available to "mere mortals". (Tariff, Unlimited and others). Savings on the Internet / calls are very noticeable. And most importantly - no troubles with the distribution of the Internet, and use in modems.

In order to learn more about these tariffs and how to connect to them, you need to write a message to Nikolay: https://vk.com/id518894077. Man running through Guarantee-service, which negates any risks of receiving a tariff. He will receive money from you only when you insert a SIM card into your phone and make sure that the tariff corresponds to the declared characteristics. If you are in St. Petersburg, then delivery to the metro is possible.

Unlimited Internet for a laptop via a 4G modem - how to bypass operator blocking?

Today a man came to me with the same problem. He bought MTS tariff "Smart Unlimited" to use it via a modem in a laptop.

According to him, for some time he used unlimited Internet for 12.9 rubles per day, but then the operator politely asked him to install a SIM card in his smartphone for further use. Internet is gone and personal account internet.mts.ru began to pop up the following message:

“You are using a data plan that is not designed for a modem. Install a SIM card in your smartphone to continue using the Internet within the tariff.

To use a SIM card on a modem, it was proposed to switch to a more expensive tariff:

“If you want to get access on a modem, go to the MTS Connect-4 tariff recommended for modems”

After digging around on the Internet, I found a way to help him! The problem is solved by changing the IMEI(identification number) of the modem. This is done so that the SIM card thinks that it was inserted into the phone, not into the 4G modem, and allowed you to use unlimited Internet on your laptop.

Next, I will describe step by step instructions for changing IMEI in Huawei 4G modems. The instruction is simpler than it might seem at first glance. Just do everything according to the points, even a person far from computers should succeed.

Easy way to change IMEI on HUAWEI USB modems

In my case it was a modem MTS 827f(HUAWEI E3372), but the next instructions for changing imei Suitable for most modems Huawei.

So, to begin with, with the programs necessary for flashing the modem. The password for the archive is "123". I must say right away that some antiviruses may start swearing at the Huawei Calculator.exe file. At its core, this file is a KeyGen, so this is a normal reaction. I advise you to disable the antivirus so that it does not interfere with you to manipulate the modem.

After you download and extract the archive, follow the next step-by-step instructions:

  1. Insert your SIM card into the modem, and the modem itself - into a laptop / computer.
  2. Run the file DC Unlocker.exe Click the button Detect modem". The program should display the model of your modem, and all information on it.

  3. Among the information, find the current IMEI of your modem. Select it and copy it to your clipboard.
  4. Now run the program Huawei Calculator.exe, in the appropriate field, insert the IMEI of your modem and press the button " Calc«:
  5. Copy the unlock code. Suitable for my MTS modem V201 code. Try it first too. If it doesn't work, try v1 or v2 code.
  6. Again go to the DC-Unlocker program, and paste the code into the input field

    at^datalock="CODE"

Where instead of CODE you paste the code copied in the last step. Press Enter, you will see OK. If it gives an error, try v1 and v2 codes from the HUAWEI Unlock code calculator.

  7. So, you have unlocked the modem - now you can flash a new IMEI into it. Where to get it? From any phone. But, you must be sure that this phone will not be used simultaneously with a modem on the same operator's network, otherwise the OpCoS may block the device. I took the IMEI from my old Sony Ericsson w880i feature phone. At one time it was the thinnest phone! 🙂

The IMEI is usually located under the phone's battery and is a 15-digit numeric code.
  8. So, in the DC Unlocker program, we write the command:

Where instead of CODE we insert your new IMEI. We press the Enter key. If everything went well, you will see OK. This means that the modem's imei has been successfully changed!

  9. We reboot the modem (pull out-insert).
  10. Ready! Now no operator will be able to distinguish your modem from a cell phone!

After completing all the instructions, we try to connect to the Internet. Hurray - it worked!

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in changing the imei code on a HUAWEI 3G-4G modem! If something remains incomprehensible - watch the video below, how I did it all.

How to change IMEI on a 4G modem to use an unlimited data plan in a laptop. [Video]

MTS withdraws 30-50 rubles a day for "distributing the Internet" to other devices. How to get around?

After some time, MTS will probably start sending SMSs that you are supposedly distributing the Internet to other devices. At the same time, he will withdraw from the balance of 30 rubles a day (and from the summer of 2017 - 50). Do not be upset, you just need to do one more simple operation -.

By the way, this method will also help you if you distribute the Internet to a laptop from a smartphone via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB!

Earlier on our site, we touched on the topic of changing IMEI on various devices. Including various manufacturers. Today we continue to publish these materials and consider how to change IMEI on HUAWEI modems.

First of all, you will need Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST) you can download it for free from our website. Further:

1. Install QPST.
2. Run QPST Configuration: Start-All Programs-QPST-QPST Configuration
3. Device Manager -> Ports (COM and LPT) Find the port number (for Huawei-3G Application Interface)
4. If there is no port number, click the Add New Port button

5. Here you select the COM port that corresponds to the 3G Application Interface

6. This is how your modem should be displayed

7. Click "Start Clients" at the top

8. Choose "RF NV Item Manager"

9. A window like this will appear
10. Click Setting-Comport-Select a port

12. The process of reading the processing of NV item from the modem will start
In the displayed result, we will not see the item we need (NV_UE_IMEI_I)

13. Click "File" again and select "Read Supported RF NV Items"

Now all NV items will be visible

14. Select (NV_UE_IMEI_I) I have it at number 550

15. Here you will see 9 empty fields on the right side (if you do not have IMEI)

16. Put a tick in the "Hex" box and write a new IMEI in the empty fields. But you need to write not in the original format (this is not possible 3 44 30 40 85 11 33 67), but in Hex format (this is necessary 8 3A 44 03 4 58 11 33 76)

Important: In the first field, be sure to enter a value - 8
In the second field, the first digit of your IMEI in this form - 3A
In the fifth window, one digit of the value is entered (in the original IMEI this is the 4th set of characters, usually tens (10.20 ... 80.90)
In the remaining windows, numbers are entered in mirror image.
Example: real IMEI - 3 23 54 30 15 61 53 37
Which must be entered 8 3A 32 453 51 16 35 73

17. IMEI entered, again click "File" and select "Write Only Listed NV Item To Phone

All IMEI installed.

Important: write IMEI correctly and very carefully the first time, there will be one attempt, the second time IMEI will be write-protected.

In the same way, you can try to do this with ZTE MF modems.

And another very simple way to IMEI on Huawei modems

IMEI can be changed using AT commands and terminal programs. How it's done and commands.

1. The modem must be connected to the computer and all drivers must be installed on it.

2. First, we give the modem the following command at ^ datalock = "code" with quotes, where instead of the word code, write the unlock code for your modem using your native IMEI. This command removes the ban on writing to the modem's memory.

3. Then, without turning off the modem, we give the command to change the IMEI at ^cimei = "new imei" with quotes, where instead of the new IMEI write the one you need.

How and with what to enter AT commands into the modem
AT command is used to control some of the modem's functions. Commands can be entered with special programs, it is much easier than the hyperterminal built into Windows XP. To do this, you can use the programs: My Huawei Terminal, DC-Unlocker or Mini Mobile Data. Before using these programs, you must close all other programs that may be using the modem. For Huawei modems, you need to connect to the COM port 3G PC UI Interface, for ZTE MF modems on COM port ZTE Proprietary USB Modem. How to use, look at the pictures, everything is quite simple. If there are several commands, first enter one - press Enter, then the next one and press Enter again.

In this article, we will look at how you can unlock a Huawei modem using AT commands, and also how you can generally interact with the modem using them. For example, take the popular this moment model - Huawei E3272 ... As we wrote earlier, you can interact with the modem using AT commands through special terminal programs, for example HyperTerminal, PuTTy, Huawei Modem Terminal, etc. Let's see how to do it.

Entering AT commands into a Huawei modem using PuTTy

After the modem is installed in the device manager, additional devices should appear:

In the Modems section - Huawei Mobile Connect - Modem, in the Ports (COM and LPT) section - HUAWEI Mobile Connect - PC UI Interfac (COM5) (you may have a different port number, remember it, because it is through it that we will connect to a modem to enter AT commands) and in the Network adapters - HUAWEI Mobile Connect - Network Card section. As you can see, the modem is defined both on the COM port and as an NDIS network adapter. Now we launch PuTTy and configure the connection to the COM port. Please note that all processes occupying the modem's COM port must be closed while we connect to the modem using PuTTy. IN this case these are MegaFonInternet.exe and MegaFonInternetService.exe. We go to the task manager and end these processes:

You can also do this from the console (Win + R -> cmd -> Ok) using the following command sequence:

net stop "MegaFon Internet Service"

taskkill /f /im MegaFonInternet.exe

Setting up Putty in the following way and press the "Connect" button:

How to find out modem IMEI and firmware version using AT commands?

The modem's IMEI and firmware version can be found using the ATI command, or AT+CGSN. Enter these two commands sequentially into the modem and see its response:

ATI+CGSN Manufacturer: huawei Model: E3272 Revision: 21.436.05.00.209 IMEI: 867503013090647 +GCAP: +CGSM,+DS,+ES 867503013090647 OK

As you can see, the IMEI of the modem in this case is 867503013090647, the modem firmware version is 21.436.05.00.209. possible on our service. In response, you will receive an unlock code and the code requested when flashing the modem. For a given IMEI, we will receive the following in response:

IMEI: 867503013090647 201 Algo Unlock Code: 72033153 Flash Code: 34262301

That. the unlock code for our modem is 72033153. Let's enter it and check the lock status.

How to enter the unlock code into the modem using the AT command?

To do this, give the command AT^CARDLOCK="72033153", after which, check the status of the lock using AT^CARDLOCK? :

As you can see, the modem answered ^CARDLOCK 2,10,0 - which means that it is unlocked and can now be used by SIM cards of any operators. Now we will look at how to do the same through DC Unlocker.

how to unlock this huawei e1550 modem? In view of its popularity (and in our region, Megafon, MTS, and Beeline sell this particular model), I decided to sketch this post in order to send those who wish here. Of course, there is a limitation - my method does not work with Beeline. Everything is completely different there (something they made up there with the firmware).

We have: modem Huawei e1550 from Megafon or MTS (I repeat - Beeline does not fit)

We want: stick other sims, and not just that OpSoSa whose logo is drawn on the modem

Solution: it is as always simple and angry. There is no need for any dances with tambourines and other computer magic. All we need is a program called Register or log in to view links!
Register or log in to view links!
and straight arms. Download the program from the link above, run it.

Register or log in to view links!

As you can see, the program interface is simple and uncomplicated: it remains to enter the IMEI of the modem (it is located immediately below the SIM card), and not to be confused with the serial number which is there. After entering the IMEI, press the button Calculus mis codes and we get two lines in the black window - flasheo And Desbloque. We do not need the first - we are interested in the second, which Desbloque. We write it down somewhere, and insert the modem into the computer just now. The main thing is the presence of a SIM card of any operator in it, but not the one under which it is locked. Well, then when you start the program, he will ask you for the unlock code, which we have just successfully received.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated. With Beeline, of course, it is more difficult, but not by much.

P.S. Speaking of birds, that is, the modem. Recently at work there was a question of the notification of clients on SMS. We decided not to buy them in batches on the Internet, but simply connect a modem to the server (this same e1550). Immediately after the purchase (they took MTS), there were 2 problems - the modem was not excited in principle after the computer was rebooted / turned off, but was defined as a CD-ROM in the system until you run the MTS-Connect program.

The solution to the first question was depressingly banal (for me anyway) - it was enough to update the software. That is, download from the operator's website latest version updates and that's it - the modem is correctly detected by the system after a reboot.

I found the answer to the second question on the Dlink website - just switch it to modem only mode, without any other functions. In general, it was written that this can be done using the standard HyperTerminal, but I found an easier option - a program called My Huawei Terminal. No settings, the only requirement is the presence on the computer .NET Framework and a modem in modem mode (sounds strange, but I hope you understand). After connecting to the modem, first enter the command AT, and if the modem answered OK, change the mode with the following commands:

AT^U2DIAG=0 device in modem only mode
AT^U2DIAG=1 device in modem mode + CD-ROM
AT^U2DIAG=255 device in modem mode + CD-ROM + Card Reader
AT^U2DIAG=256 device in modem mode + Card Reader
