Debut in Monaco

Finn managed to get to the finish line in a situation that for most other pilots would have ended with a close acquaintance with the fence.
Last win for Ferrari
In 2009, the Ferrari car was clearly not allowed to claim victories, but Raikkonen won at Spa, bringing the team such a long-awaited and necessary result, just a month after a serious incident that almost ended Felipe Massa's life at the Hungaroring.
Finn started sixth, but immediately won the position from Brown's Rubens Barrichello, who reacted poorly to the starting lights. Thanks to spectacular - although, perhaps, not fully meeting the requirements of the rules - maneuvers after the turn of La Source, Raikkonen was second only to the leader Giancarlo Fisichella from Force India and the BMW Sauber driver Robert Kubica.
Thanks to the speed he managed to get out of the hairpin, Kimi overtook Kubica already in the Eau Rouge and went around Kemmel on the straight, after which he climbed too wide into Les Combes, but still managed to defend his position from the Pole's counterattack. By that time, Fisichella was already far ahead, but the exit of the safety car gave the Finn another chance.
During the restart, Giancarlo did not come out of the last corner in the best way, and Raikkonen sat on his tail after La Source. The effect of the "air bag" and the use of the KERS system allowed Kimi to bypass the Italian without any problems.
Raikkonen remained the leader until the end. True, he could hardly have won without the help of the safety car, but in the end he saved Ferrari's terrible season with a surprise victory.
Victory in the debut race for Ferrari
Expectations from Raikkonen after his transfer to Ferrari in 2007 were sky-high, and he immediately set to work.

Two stages before the end of the 2007 season, Raikkonen had practically no chance of winning the championship.
Lewis Hamilton had just won a round in the rain in Japan at the Fuji circuit - and was ahead of the Finn by 17 points (for a victory at that time you could get ten). Of course, Kimi still had mathematical chances, but only some kind of disaster in the McLaren camp could allow him to win the title.
Everything that happened next is reliably documented. Initially, in China, Hamilton was trapped in a gravel pit, trying to get into the pits on a completely destroyed rubber, and then the failure of the McLaren electronics at Interglagos gave Kimi a chance, but this chance had yet to be seized.
Even in this situation, it was necessary to achieve two victories ... Raikkonen won in the rain in China, arriving in Brazil with a seven-point deficit. At Interlagos, the Finn became the strongest again - with the help of Felipe Massa - and became the champion in an incredible way.
First win and title chase
In qualifying for the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso flashed his first pole position in a Renault. However, it was Kimi Raikkonen who became the hero of the race, breaking through from seventh place on the grid to his debut victory.
In the first turn, the Finn was already sixth, and in the second, he dodged the colliding cars of Michael Schumacher and Jarno Trulli. According to the results of the first round, Raikkonen was already fourth.
He passed former Sauber team-mate Nick Heidfeld by braking on the outside before the first corner, and then moved into second place after his McLaren team-mate David Coultard retired.
Alonso went to the pits five laps ahead of the Finn, who used this moment to take the lead. And although the second was the Ferrari pilot Rubens Barrichello, Raikkonen did not look back and confidently brought the matter to the end, winning the first victory in his career in such a confident style, as if it was already his twentieth triumph.
That year, Raikkonen no longer climbed to the top of the podium, but until the very end of the championship he fought for the title, eventually losing only two points to Michael Schumacher.
Fighting the "square" tire
Before the 2005 European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, Kimi was already 22 points behind the overall leader Fernando Alonso from Renault.
He started second behind Williams driver Nick Heidfeld, but was the big favorite with more fuel on board. In the course of the pit stops, the Finn took the lead and from that moment became the main contender for victory, until 26 laps before the finish line he allowed a hard blocking of the front right wheel in the first turn.
With 11 laps to go before the checkered flag, the fight for first place escalated, with Raikkonen winning fourth place Fernando Alonso by 11.825 seconds, with Heidfeld and Barrichello, who were between them, still to refuel for the last time.
However, by that time serious problems had arisen due to vibrations caused by tire damage. The Finn was already struggling with a lack of grip (which was the reason for the initial blockage), but at that time the rules forced pilots to drive the whole distance on one set of rubber - it could only be changed in case of obvious damage. Raikkonen and McLaren decided to go all the way...
Alonso was faster. The backlog was reduced menacingly and inevitably from circle to circle: 11.825… 10.100… 8.652… 7.446… 6.170… 4.922… 4.452… 4.036… 3.548… 2.729… The pilots went to the final lap 1.589 seconds apart.
Raikkonen slammed on the brakes in the first turn, and the front right suspension, which had taken the brunt of the wheel wobble all this time, finally failed, and the Finn ended up in gravel.
Given the circumstances, it was a risky game that almost paid off thanks to Räikkönen's incredible cockpit work.
“A third-place finish behind Alonso would have been more acceptable than a retirement, but we were fighting for the title and we wanted to win,” McLaren boss Ron Dennis later said. “We took risks, but we lost.”
Breakthrough on the track Spa
The 2004 season was not going well for McLaren. Neither Raikkonen nor Coultard were able to conquer the podium during the first 13 stages. Then Formula 1 came to Belgium.

The fact that Raikkonen managed to win in his first season after two years in the WRC and the subsequent return to Formula 1 is impressive in itself - but even more striking is the style in which the Finn won the Abu Dhabi round. .
This Grand Prix is remembered for several episodes of the Lotus pilot's radio exchange with his team, which became a vivid reflection of Raikkonen's character. Winning overtaking on the last lap of the race
