Opened at the Pushkin Theater Season 69

6 and 9 are interesting numbers: no matter how you twist it, the same number still comes out, which means that the theater will gain stability, balance and harmony in the upcoming season.

On September 12, at the traditional gathering of the troupe, the artistic director of the theater Evgeny Pisarev congratulated all the employees who received awards from the mayor's office, the department of culture, who served in the theater for an anniversary number of years and simply gave birth to children. There were plenty of those who had some reason. Members of the team happily greeted each other.

After solemn words, Evgeny Pisarev, went to lyrical digression, recalling the beginning of his service to the Pushkin Theater. “There were no ambitions, there was only love for this theater and a great desire to transform it…”.

Then he gave an example of the loving cultivation of apricots and watermelons in a dacha near Moscow by artist and director Vitaly Yegorov. “Everything grows, bears fruit because it is interesting to him, and when he is interested and likes it, then everything works out.

Love is the only artistic concept and the only right path to success….”. AND main director offered to honor the memory of his friend and great friend of the theater Dmitry Brusnikin, who put forward this concept.

Then Yevgeny Pisarev, after a pause, turned gloomy and turned briefly and sternly to the young people: “Of course, I made a bet on you, but you shouldn’t assume that everything is possible, since they turn a blind eye to many things in the theater. Insolence should be reduced and remember that even the most patient wives at some point pack a suitcase and leave it at the door. Don't wait for this moment...

The theater opened the 69th season with the already held premiere - the play "Shakespeare in Love" based on the screenplay by the British playwright Tom Stoppard directed by Evgeny Pisarev

On its stage for the fourth season, with the constant full house and enthusiastic applause of the public, the play "The Night Before Christmas", staged based on the story by Nikolai Gogol, is being staged. Spectators watch the magical stage performance, rich in brilliant acting, a captivating plot, marvelous melodies of Russian and Ukrainian folklore, virtuoso vocal and choreographic scores of the Russian Song and Russian Seasons ensembles, as well as the Living Planet ballet.
No less popular and loved by the audience is the play "Baby's Revolt in Our Collective Farm" based on the works of Mikhail Sholokhov. In it, the brilliant prose of the great writer was enriched with picturesque pictures of the original way of life of the post-revolutionary farm, quotations from modern reality and the multicolored song and dance Cossack folklore.
Traditional Cossack dances performed by the ballet dancers "Living Planet" and the dance ensemble "Russian Seasons", musical compositions, written by the composer Mikhail Bronner - something that the performance could not do without. Lyrical, drill, lullaby songs performed by the ensemble "Russian Song" headed by Nadezhda Babkina are taken to the quick, make the audience empathize with the heroes, their masterly resounding voices involved in the wonderful world of traditional culture.
Thanks to the brilliant play of actors Sergei Kolesnikov, Olga Volkova, Nadezhda Babkina, Nikolai Dobrynin, Mikhail Politseymako, Sholokhov's heroes come to life, endowed with truly folk characters - broad and simple-minded.
Despite the fact that "Kalina Krasnaya" is a famous film shot in 1974 by Vasily Shukshin himself, director Dmitry Petrun was not afraid of comparisons and created an original performance that did not look like a screen sample. He became a real high-profile event last season. The director set as his main task to get away from the textbook Shukshin, to tell his story on the basis of his text, to ensure that the audience did not have a desire to compare the performance with the famous film. According to the reaction of the audience and publications in the media, he succeeded!
The undoubted success of the performance is a magnificent acting duet: Andrey Merzlikin (Egor) and Maria Shukshina (Lyuba). By the way, in the film, the role of "correspondence student" Lyuba Baikalova was played by actress Lidia Fedoseeva-Shukshina, and her daughter Maria appeared on the stage of the Russian Song Theater in the same image 43 years later. Sergey Nikonenko, Elena Safonova, Natalya Egorova, Nadezhda Babkina, Alexander Kogan, Vyacheslav Manucharov and theater artists also take part in the performance.
The Russian Song Theater is a musical theater, so a lot of music sounds in its productions - these are folk and author's songs, and original melodies specially created by composers and conveying the essence and atmosphere of the performance. Even in The Pool of Love, staged after A. Kuprin's story The Pit, the musical material is on the same level as the dramatic material.
Choreography is another facet of the creative characteristics of the Russian Song. The theater troupe employs two dance groups - the ensemble "Russian Seasons" under the direction of Nikolai Androsov and the show ballet "Living Planet", which take part in almost all productions. Their most significant and noticeable work was the musical and choreographic performance "Moscow and Muscovites". Through the language of dance, it tells about how the capital changed over the course of the 20th century, how the way of life and customs of its inhabitants changed, how styles and directions of dance art developed.
In the repertoire of the theater, a special place is given to performances for children, which are very popular with young spectators. The playbill already has a folklore performance "The New Adventures of Kolobok", a ballet to the music of Karen Khachaturian "Ciollino", a musical performance "Fly-Tsokotuha and her friends", as well as New Year's performances. In the new season young viewers also waiting for new performances.
The musical performance "Kashtanka" based on the story of the same name by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov is a touching and funny story about a lost dog, which is picked up on the street by a famous trainer, Monsieur Georges. In his house, Kashtanka is waiting for a new, unfamiliar life - she gets a different name and becomes a circus performer ...
