Subsequently, Yoda engages in a titanic showdown with Palpatine that nearly destroys the Senate building. Italian Star Wars fans, especially children, often refer to Yoda as "the first Sardinian" or "the one who speaks Sardinian". This is a consequence of the fact that once when translating films into Italian, Yoda's manner of speaking was very much like a Sardinian accent, which is considered funny and even ridiculous in Italy.

For a long time without using the Force, old Yoda was forced to lean on a stick when walking. In the expanded universe, information can be found that one of his luggage is a memento from the Wookiee, and his cane is made from a certain gimera plant that contains nutrients so that Yoda can chew on a cane during a long journey.

Another possible prototype is Dersu Uzala, a Nanai hunter and tracker from the novel by V. K. Arseniev, who thoroughly studied nature in its entirety. George Lucas is familiar with this character from the film by Akira Kurosawa, filmed in the USSR in 1975.

Yoda animation

In The Phantom Menace, Yoda's appearance was modified to make him look younger. He was computer modeled for two deleted scenes, but he was again used as a puppet.

With the help of computer animation in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, Yoda appeared in a previously impossible way: for example, in a fight scene, which was very laborious to model. In Revenge of the Sith, his face appears in several large sequences that require very careful computer digitization.
